Pre-Clinical Simulation

Overview

During the first two years of the dental school curriculum students obtain knowledge and develop skills by practicing on manikins and models that simulate real patient’s mouths. The pre-clinical simulation curriculum includes training in the disciplines of removable prosthodontics (complete dentures and removable partial dentures), operative dentistry, crown and bridge, and endodontics. It is only after students successfully achieve competency in these disciplines in the pre-clinical simulation courses are they allowed to treat real patients in the clinics.
